My mum is experiencing some starting problems on her 2002 Fabia 2.0.

The starter is turning, but the car doesn't fire, sometimes she has to try several times to get it working. She says it seems to help if she takes the key out and puts it in again and then tries again.

It's been to the dealer twice and they said they were going to reprogramme the keys but whatever they've done doesn't seem to have worked.

Any ideas? The dealer said they hadn't come accross it before.

Might be a red herring but...any idea what state the battery is in? Could be worth checking the connectors are tight enough and maybe getting Halfords to run one of their "free battery health check" things on it.

Admittedly wouldn't explain the key thing though... :rubchin:

Thanks Rob. Think the batteries absolutely fine though.

I've asked her to start using the spare key to see if that helps.

Any more ideas anyone?
