right, I'm getting a set of Toyo Proxes from a place near work.

There is some difference between the brands for grip in both wet and dry. Also a lot of difference between the wear rates. Worth reading - I got my March edition this morning.

So what's best then?????

Dunnno about who's best, but just got a quote of £325 for 4 Proxes T1-Rs fully-fitted at my place of work from these guys. Seems pretty bargainous to me!

(Especially considering Colin's "quote" - no offence! ;) )

From my first drive, the dry scenic route home, the 225 Toyo Proxes seem very good. The grip. traction and turn-in are good, the ride seems better and I like the look of the fatter tyres!

-Then again the Avons (would they be the OEM tyres?) had seen much better days.....

Deleted, as I don't think the insurance company allow higher-profile tyres on my standard rims without informing them, and I can do without all the hassle. Plus the overall increase in wheel diameter may not actually be legal!
