Mk2 wheels

Featured Replies

I’ve had a look in wheels zone but cannot find an answer. I’d like to put some 18” alloys from a mk2 octy on my mk1 octy VRS. Is this possible and is it a straight swap? Thanks

@dutchboyvw - Short answer "No"; Long answer "different PCW and IIRC hub ring diameter".

Ahh that’s a shame. I’m trying to find some 18” wheels that a) aren’t too expensive and b, look like standard wheels.

The PCD is different (5x100 on the MKI & 5x112 on the MKII) so you could use PCD adapters to make them fit but it obviously adds to the cost.

Thanks for the advice. Is there a section on here where users have put pics of there car on 18” wheels? A lot of the pics don’t seem to work for me for whatever reason

@dutchboyvw - I'm guessing here but you're getting a standardised message from Photobucket instead of a picture? If so, then that's down to basically a ransom demand by the present owners of the website (IIRC ~$400 a year to let you display your pictures that they previously hosted for free).

There is a work around fix for this, I've installed the fix on my Chrome browser and the pictures are working, https://forums.redflagdeals.com/google-chrome-firefox-photobucket-hotlink-fix-2126190/?hotlinkfix=1514578785911
