Hello all

i was told there is a fault code in fsi petrol engine throttle body

garage wants to spend hour labour to investigate fault but if replaced its a £500 part they said.

so was wondering before they do anything I ask forum members for advice on this and can anyone advise on whether or not to have it stripped and cleaned.Have heard this shouldn’t be done think on this forum.

car is 11 years old with 107k on clock still drives lovely so don’t understand problem as it drives fine

So it drives fine and no engine management light is on while doing so?

 

And the garage has found a fault code and wants to investigate?

 

If this is true then I wouldn't bother touching it. It could have been a spurious fault code logged and may not return anyway

had engine management light on when car stalled then local garage cleared light and has never returned on.

I had thought the same about not touching it
