Skoda Connect

Featured Replies

Would I be right in thinking that Skoda Connect is only any use if you have a SIM card in your car. I ask because the App demo shows you the car status parking place lights on or off etc.

My App only show a blank screen for favourites a blank screen for POI's and a blank screen for destinations. I have filled in my Service Partner bit but can find no use for the App at all.

Not got my car yet, but I understand it’s also able to do some ‘stuff’ if you have Apple Play etc as it’s one of the apps.  In these circumstances it clearly requires your phone to be connected via the USB and a data allowance.

Have you subscribed to Skoda Connect? With my Amundsen It gives you additional POI options, up to date petrol prices and traffic info. No parking lights, or remote locking. I think you need a Columbus with SIM card for that functionality.

You can use your phone as a hotspot as well but need to connect every time. So I never bother. If you don’t have a SIM slot you could use a SIM dongle instead.

Personally, I find Apple CarPlay/Android Auto far better for navigation, searching etc. All I’m missing is lights/locking but I can live with that.

My thoughts exactly.

I won’t be renewing the subscription as it struggles to connect to the service when using my iPhone as a hotspot. The only useful thing I’ve found so far is the petrol prices.

There is nothing offered that my phone cannot access quicker directly without the tortuous route of logging into Connect on a hit and miss connection. My free one year subscription will not be renewed either.
