Coil pack saga

Featured Replies

Coil pack versions 06B 905 115 D' date=' G and H are being replaced with the 06B 905 115L free of charge. Cars fitted with the 06B 905 115J are not having the coilpacks replaced. I believe that the H version was the problematical one and was fitted to 2002 model year 1.8Ts (and possibly some earlier and/or later ones). The latest 1.8Ts are fitted with a different part number - ie 06A 905 115A . Chassis numbers of those cars are as follows:

1U-3-810 087>>

1U-3A020 277>>

1U-38712 054>>

It could well be that you have the latest type of coilpack fitted to your car, Steve.[/quote']

Do you know if the latter 06A 905 115A will fit an 02 plate octavia vrs?

Sorry but I don't. When I checked with my dealer recently the 06B 905 115L verson was still the latest one for my car. Mine have been faultless since changed to that version - but I still carry 2 spares.

i had a coil pack fail today had to limp home ten miles !! have i killed my cat ??????

possibly , but you probably wont know for a month or so , I work at a Ford dealership and we are forever changing coil packs on the Fiestas and Focus , generally its about 2-3 months before the customer comes back with the MIL lamp on , DTC P0420 iirc , catalyst out of range , there is some good news though not all of them come back after a coil pack has been replaced , so lets hope you are lucky with your Octy .
