Dealers shouldn’t charge you anything apart from the battery price itself to replace it. Well at least where I go don’t. Good video though.

I know it's a big thread bump but thanks for sharing, it's a useful video (just made it a 30 second job to change the battery). 

That's one benefit of now having three keys, the main key on my March registered Octavia recently began giving me warnings on the car that its battery needed replacing. Never had to change one on a car this new before, so in the end just begun using one of the other keys instead and put the dodgy key out of the way, should last the rest of the 2 year PCH deal that way without having to change any batteries!

The service manager at my local main dealer changed both batteries for free. And explained how to do it.  Don't go for £1 batteries but the best brands with long shelf life. I have learned from experience. 

Just replaced both batteries on my keys using Varta replacements.

Cheap and easy to do.
