Yes 0409 should be possible:

Note that you will see an error if scanning the car for fault codes, unless you clear the fault code and change a Hex value with VCDS or similar.

Depends whether you have Canton.

If not then there is no separate amp so it is integral with the unit in glove box, if you do have Canton then as I don't have Canton someone else will need to answer - sorry!

Hey

I dont have canton.

I  think thats the problem for that i dont have sound from speakers.

How can i test it? Or can i replace it?

Not helpful now OP has confirmed, but with Canton it's under the passenger seat :)

In your first post you say you have a Columbus?????

The Columbus can either drive the speakers directly, or if the Canton sound system is added via a amplifier - which as ahenners has said would be under the passenger seat.

Please double check what head unit you have (Amundsen, Columbus, or something else) AND whether you have the Canton sound system upgrade.

If I remember correctly I had 0192 software on my Columbus before I had it updated by the dealer to 0409.

This worked without issues & I never had problems with sound.

However, once you get to the bottom of the problem with your speaker sound I would recommend updating to the last firmware.

This includes a change to the compression of the output on Columbus & the sound is much louder & there are no longer issues with clipping & noise supression which used to make some songs sound strange when listened to at a higher volume.

The bass frequencies are also less limited giving an overall better sound.

Ouch sorry i mean i dont have canton.

i have columsbus and no canton.

Anny idea what to do?  Replace whol system?  Thats sux. My radio works perfect but there is just no sound from speakers...

I dont know what to do :(

First thing I would do is to slide the Columbus unit from the glove box and check all the connectors are properly fitted and tight - might even be worth unplugging and re-plugging them to make sure.
