Skoda Octavia ELECTRIC SEAT problem

Featured Replies

I am having problem with my ELECTRIC SEAT it is not working. There is power going to it but nothing is happening need help thanks

With respect there's not enough here to offer much help. So:

Have you measured the voltage and if so where?

Is it all functions or just one that aren't working?

Is there any sound from the electric motors?

Do the memory settings change the position at all?

The motor is working but when you connect to the box under SEAT it doesn't  work

Sounds like a module issue. You ideally need to scan it with vcds. Look in the vcds section for a nearby user.

I have scan it it is module I just want to know if can be fixed or I have to get a new one  and if you know how much they go for

No idea but take the part number from tbe scan and pop into ebay search. Modules for older cars can be cheap.

Hi there,

i didn't want to start a new thread on similar topic.

My octavia FSI L&K 2006 has got an electric seat problem.

I cannot set or overwrite a new seat position.

When I start the car, sometimes I am able to change the seat position but then randomly during the journey it will move back to the he saved position.

Anyway to reset all memory of the seating stored postions? Without  a vcds ?

I'm sure I posted some time ago about an unresponsive seat button panel and the fix was to simply remove it from the seat, disassemble, clean in hot soapy water, dry, reassemble and refit.

Turned out to be what looked like a soft drink spill that had gummed up the rubber button/circuit board contacts, wasn't even aware it had happened.

As above and if it still doesn't work you will need a new memory seat switch

Thanks I will give it a go and report back.

Btw taking the seat button panel out, is it just lifting the panel from the top?

Nothing from under the seat to take apart?

cheers

Yep, just pop the unit up and disconnect the wiring connector.

Make sure you disassemble all the way to ensure the button contacts are clean.

Hi all, an update to help others.

I lifted  out the seat connector but could not get to the jack to remove, seemed the wiring was attached under the seat.

So I had enough room to take it apart.

I used wd40 and an ear bud to clean the electronic circuit. (Couldn't think of anything else I had to hand)

give it a couple of wipes, let it dry.

Then put it back together

all working now :)
