 dont know where to start so here goes, ive had the car about 3 weeks(03 octavia vrs 25k miles)bought privately,it started running rough and you only get a radio signal 50% of the time so i took it in under warranty got a call saying the turbo nakered so that took them a week to do got it back never said anything about the radio got in it started it up and the exhaust banged on start up so went back in and told them took it back into the workshop and said theres a broken bracket and just book it in another day,the car was fine for a day but because the bracket was broke the exhaust came loose took it back in a week later(today)it was ready for 4.00pm they tell me its done and theres nothing wrong with the radio because it shows no errors up,so then i couldn't find my car they had parked it 5 minutes away(Muppet's:mad: )gets to my car and theres a dent in the rear drivers side door so i goes back in going bonkers because they have damaged my pride and joy,now I'm going to get a call tomorrow to tell me what there going to do re: repairs

1 who do i call to complain

2 do i get it repolished with diomondbrite to match the rest

3 make them replace the head unit

not sure what else to say other than I'm so mad:mad:

just to name and shame skoda at rainworth mansfield:finger:

adi

1. Call Skoda customer services and log a complaint. Think they are open to 8pm

2. Get the garage to repair the dent. Also let them try to put it right.

3. If it is under Used Skoda warranty take it to another dealer - Alba Autos at Mount sorrell possibly as they are 'Old school Skoda Dealers'

If this fails - BBC Local Radio and Trading Standards are quite good. Reject the car.

Finally if on HP contact the HP company.

Edit also write a calm collected letter to the dealer principle and CC Skoda customer care. But think it through - ranting will not get the desired result.

they close at 6.00 just rang customer care:(

Why make them replace the headunit? It could be a fault with the aerial mast, it needs to be diagnosed. But remember a technician can only diagnose something that is faulty at the time of testing unless its a very common fault which they may have come across before.

Exhaust bracket is pretty common on the Octavia, more than likely find the stress of removing the downpipe to do the turbo just finished the bracket off.

You can't reject the car if you bought it privately, so I'd ignore that bit of JMK2's advice :(

Why not look on the bright side? You bought a car privately but have the benefit of the outstanding period of a manufacturer's warranty, plus breakdown cover. And you have saved yourself from a very substantial repair bill by having the turbo replaced under that warranty.

As a general rule you will get a more sympathetic hearing if you are reasonable rather than rude with the dealer. Skoda dealers are franchises and, I believe, are under no obligation to carry out warranty work on your car if they haven't sold it to you.

Sorry mis read post. Privately is a different matter.
