Replace the rack if it's leaking, gaiters are rubber dust covers, not oil seals.

@Arghhhhhelp - Is the gaiter leaking hydraulic fluid or just oily? If it's leaking hydraulic fluid then, as @sepulchrave says the only cure is a new or reconditioned rack. If it's just oily, you may well just need to replace the torn gaiter.

Cheers guys , I did new front brake pads and discs and noticed the gaiter was wet Gave it a squeeze and the light green fluid came out and did notice there is no clip on the bigger end as well,

The last keeper has well and truly been ripped off by the garage who according to them did a new rack and all brakes less then 3 yr ago ( brakes were bad, front all new now back being done today)

So lesson to take in ... Service history ain't all its cracked up to be .

Didn't want to do a rack I've done this job before on another car and tbh it is a bit of a nightmare .

I did read somewhere there are seals that go and can be replaced ? But rack off or on ?

Oh well I may well have to by the part and get a trusted mechanic I know to fit it for me i guess if when what's and why's lol

Bloody cars .....

@Arghhhhhelp - Well, that's definitely a new rack needed then. You do need to drop the rack to replace the seals, so it's easier to get an exchange rack.
