2018MY vs 2017MY changes for SE-L

Featured Replies

Hi,

I’m Keen on buying a nearly new SE-L and from what I can find out, 2018MY started in week 22 of 2017.

Is the only change for the SE-L the change in Columbus screen size from 8” to 9.2”?

If so, it’s probably not worth getting too concerned over.

Many thanks.

I wish I had the older 8" screen with the physical buttons if I am honest. The 9.2" has a great quality screen but you don't look at it for long do you :)

From what I recall from when I ordered mine in June last year, the only difference is the larger screen of the new Columbus system.

And a900ss, if you have specific questions I am happy for you to contact me via this forum.

I've had my SE L since October and it's a very nice car. Some things are clearly cheaper than on the A3 saloon I had and I probably preferred that for driving (smaller) but the Superb has many more options and space for similar money. List price for both about £31k albeit 3 years apart. A3 now has some of the options as standard so probably still similar in price.

Thanks.

Another thread has reminded me that model year 2018 introduced the emergency call feature and the ability to speak to Skoda technical. Car will auto call emergency services in an accident and give location and you can also press the SOS button in the roof near the glasses holder/sunroof controls. I doubt if this is a deal breaker.

Its also the system the EU can use to track you....

It is also the system I can check I've locked the car. Have it flash lights and even also sound the horn remotely. I can be warned when it moves etc.

Most handy thing so far is checking the mileage when doing expenses without going back out to the car.

Based on my experiences of the knowledge espoused by Skoda's UK "technical" department, that's not much of a feature. :D
