Leaking panoramic roof superb estate

Featured Replies

Started noticing a bit of water dripping over the plastic trim near to the door on the drivers side onto the rubber mat in my 2010 Superb estate.

I started removing trim to find ALOT of water under the carpet on the drivers side,to say i'm gutted is an understatement.

I started chasing the drips by removing more and more trim, with drips inside the A pillar trim this was always heading towards the panoramic roof.

But,the drains are running freely.

Ive dropped the headlining on the passenger side,i can see water dripping near to the drain point, there is a smaller black tube, not sure where that goes but its much  smaller than the main hose, its leaking from the plastic housing near to this tube.

I'm a little stumped as it stands, can anyone point me in the direction of a exploded diagram of the sunroof and its components? Ive searched online but have come up blank.I'm wondering if there are any other seals.

Has anyone had the same issue?

Use the search at the top right, there are countless results for panoramic roof and I think some years back someone did post a diagram.

Bit of an update, although the drivers drain was unblocked further investigation revealed that the passenger side blocked. I'm thinking that the combination of my drive which is on a slope and one side being blocked was overwhelming the drivers side and allowing water to get where it was never designed to be.

It will be the drain tubes. They are a pain in the ass. Ask me how I know.

Just a bit more of an update as it might help someone in the future, this morning i noticed further drips coming from the original location(my headlining is still removed) the sunroof tray itself was relatively dry,the indicating that the drain tubes weren't the only problem. With the help of a friend i removed the sunroof completely, this leaves behind a seal that is partially visible from outside the vehicle when the sunroof is closed. I noticed that mine wasn't fitting the best in the corners,i'm going to bite the bullet and order this seal which runs round the entire perimeter of the sunroof.

The assembly butts up against this seal from underneath.

Fingers crossed,i'll update when i have removed the sunroof again and fitted the new seal.

Instead of new seal - wouldn't be enough to use some sealant/silicone ?
