Strange things have been happening to our Octavia and gotten worse this year. At the beginning the cluster stoped working for maybe 1second during driving (happened a couple of times after this). Next thing that happened is that I got a left AFS error. This error disappeared by itself. 

 

Next strange thing is that I got a left fog light error and after that left brake light error. These errors also disappeared after a day or two. (Both works fine now)

 

Yesterday I got an EGR fault putting the car in limb mode, so I put the car in a warm garage. Today after clearing errors, it hasnt come back. Anyone with these kinds of errors? Or anyone knows why left side is affected?

How old is the battery? If its around 5 years might need replacing.

It could be the battery but these are quite specific errors. 

 

Have you changed a bulb recently? First thing I would be checking is the connector to left light cluster is properly pushed home. And also that there is no water ingress.

 

I suspect the EGR fault is a separate issue. On the pre FL diesel its relatively easy to remove and clean the EGR valve, can't imagine its that different on the FL.

Typo

Just checked under the hood, and cables on the left side are completely soaked, so I think that may be the issue. After some heavy rain tonight the egr problem returned when I drove to work, but's now gone again. Really getting confused.

 

Where is the solenoid egr-valve connector located? (not the egr cooler, but the electrical connector, maybe i'm getting a short)

 

The battery is about 7 years old.

 

The bulb started to work again, so there was no need to change it. Still works.

Someone will hopefully be along with the answer for a FL, but if not post a picture of the engine bay with the cover removed and it should be possible to point it out...
