USB slot

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Picked up our Fabia on Monday and so far loving it, my only niggles are the live 12v socket which seems to stay on all the time and today I found out my USB socket must do the same as my usb stick flashes from time to time even when the swing radio is not on.

Can an anybody confirm if this is correct as when I pull the stick out it does not keep a note of where it last played.

Both the 12v and USB seem to stay live hence why I ended up having to hardwire my dashcams. As for the stick not remembering where it was it has been a while since I used it so can't remember if it does remember the last location or not.

Mine doesn't, stay alive. Which is great for my new dashcam as it came with USB connection instead of 12v. I had 12v dashcam which I installed in wife's vw mk5 Golf,  as 12v in her car is not permanent live. When I lock the car USB socket stays alive for about 1min or so and goes off, as soon as you unlock the car it becomes alive for few seconds again. Tested this with mobile phone while charging and observed the phone on dashboard when locked the car and it worked, so I bought my self USB charged dashcam as I didn't want to faf about hardwiring the camera.

Hope this helps

As a matter of interest,do you use the SD card in the glove box for music?

Yes I do. I am really pleased that USB socket is not alive and my dashcam works as it should be. On few occasions when I was using the old dashcam with 12v I forgot to either put it on or switch it off. Lucky the car has SD slot which enables music play.
