3 rear seat passengers

Featured Replies

Has anyone tested (not necessarily driven) the Karoq with three rear seat passengers? We are a family of 5 and what bothers me is the possibility that the tunnel in the middle may give a hard time to the passenger sitting in the middle rear seat.

I sat in the middle when on a test drive whilst my wife was driving.  I had two high back booster seats with kids in either side.

Compared to my Octavia there's was lots of space! It actually felt comfortable and I like how I could actually see out of the windscreen, I'm 6ft.

I didn't notice the tunnel so much, perhaps I might on an hours long journey.

Thanks, looks like there is enough space for three at the rear. When I checked the Ateca, the middle rear seat  footwell was not wide enough and the rear seats were not that confortable.

I sat in the back with our two kids, no issues at all other than my daughter struggled a bit with the centre seatbelt.

We took a 30min test drive with 3 kids in the back with one in an isofix high back booster - no complaints from any of them, they all found it comfortable.

I should add, I was testing the Varioflex option which has a wider middle seat than the standard rear seats. The Varioflex is also wider overall.

Our test was in the standard rear seat, btw are those rear seat widths documented anywhere?

We picked up our 1.5 TSI (with varioflex)  this morning and we had no issues with the space in the back for 3, my wife sat in the middle and found it comfortable with ample shoulder room.  We will only have 3 in the back occasionally but its good to know it works.

It might just be the light but your rear windows look darker than the tint I saw on the showroom model.  Did you add the family pack (which is meant to have thermal glass - I'm wondering if this makes the tint darker) or get additional tints fitted?

No family pack and its the standard sunset tint which comes with the Style model here in Ireland

Lovely! How do you like the car, overall? Looks great in white - which is important to me as I have ordered Candy White!!! Is yours the Moon White metallic?

The edition model we looked at in the showroom didn't have dark enough tints for my liking so we are getting them tinted again at the dealership prior to collection.

Thanks, still early days but impressed so far, fit and finish is very good and the Columbus system is very responsive and slick but will definitely be a finger print magnet.  Handling is fine for an SUV , Its no speed daemon but its plenty fast enough for our needs.  Electric  memory seats made it very easy to find a good driving position as well.

Its actually Laser white (which I don't think is available in the UK?) and  funnily enough one of the salesman in the garage mistook it for moon white , its very close to it.

No laser white here as you say. I can show my wife a real life pic of the car I ordered. I took her car in (Fabia) for a service and ordered a Karoq SE L (replacing a 2 year old Sportage). She thinks I'm a little bit crazy.

I replaced her Polo with a Fabia. First time she saw it was picking it up from the dealers.   But she's very happy with her Fabia. Thank goodness! In Candy White too.
