Can someone tell me if the dsg clutch is wet or dry on a 2.0 litre.

Also not having this level of infotainment before, do I need a SIM card or do you get some sort of internet for a year so you can update the system or put the radio station logos straight on without having to download to a usb stick. Edition with Columbus infotainment.

The dry clutch cannot handle more than about 300Nm so would be wet clutch

Radio stations will populate logos during a setup (uses digital), not internet.  Best to do this where you use the car as it will pick up appropriate local stations.

Not sure on Columbus, but can normally plug in a phone via USB port and copy data (if parked on your drive by your house, can probably use home WiFi so don’t need data allowance).   Live traffic updates requires internet data

Surreyjohn thanks for that.

So what is 1years infotainment online about.

It gives you access to online Skoda 'stuff' - news feeds, traffic,  things like that. You need to use a data connection from your phone or on the Colombus there is a sim card slot.

The subscription is free for a year, then a cost (no idea how much) after that.

This is what I got from my dealer...

Infotainment online 1 year Free

  • £63 per year there after

Care connect 3 years Free

  • £54 per year there after

Not sure if you have to use Skoda SIM card, or if you can use normal phone one.  My network EE allows extra SIM cards for about £13 which share existing data allowance.  Not sure how much data this will need (presumably depends on hours used)

You can also download additional logos to SD card from the VW forum. I can't remember the actual address but I found it by searching for radio logos. Not all stations transmit their logos.

Regarding the infotainment system on the Columbus, need to use a SIM card or use your phone as a hotspot. I use a SIM card from a old mobile, no problems at all.

The radio logos, I used the SD card from my Octavia. With radio logos already downloaded from VW website, no problems at all.
