Octavia 3-1.8 TSI strange noise from front bonnet when leave car on with start/stop active

Featured Replies

Hi,

in my garage there is a steel pillar keeping others from parking there.

when im coming home from work im usually leaving the car on with start/stop active, going outside of the car to move  the pillar so i can enter my parking.

lately when going outside the car i can hear a strange noise coming from the front of the car.

the noise can be described like something mechanic moving for a few sec and then it stops completely.

this noise happens only after a raid and when leaving the car on in parking mode for few moment with start/stop active.

i will try to record it also.

any ideas what can it be?

Welcome.

The car does not just shut down, there is a water pump that can run to cool the oil & coolant, and fans that can run to cool the coolant in the radiator.

Is it that kind of noise possibly?

If the noise is too hard to understand tommorow i will record new one when its less stormy.

There is a lot of wind, indeed. I can't really tell what the noise you are mentioning is; however mine also has its weird sounds but most of them checked out fine.
