TPI 2047723/1 bulletin Mayb17

Featured Replies

As per a member on another thread my car went in for service and I asked about this they cannot find it. Nothing needed for my car a 2011 CR DSG 2lt combi Superb 2 170, they said other than my rejection already noted for EA189.

If someone has access to the data could you check and it provide a copy here

Quote from another thread below

There is an update bulletin issued by Skoda in May 2017 concerning the position of the EGR line on the intake. Some people have reported that having this work carried out along with cleaning out the ASV assembly improved their economy and power quite a bit, including owners whose cars have had the 23R6 update performed. The bulletin is TPI 2047723/1: you could check with a Skoda dealer if this has been done or not.

I downloaded it from erWin a while back on a 1-hour subscription (it was about €10). Part of the search process is that you enter your vehicle details including VIN so the information returned to you is specific to your car, including TPI bulletins. Some bulletins give information on the range of affected vehicles, some don't: this one doesn't beyond specifying applicable PR numbers (TL4, TU3, TG3, TP4 all of which are variants of the 2.0 TDI). Beyond that it's possible to make an educated guess on what vehicles might be affected by a bulletin.

My car is much the same as yours except that it has a March 2012 build date and I doubt there were any significant design changes to the intake between '11 and '12.

The bulletin specifies that the work should only be done if the check engine or glow plug warning light are on, and then to check the condition of the throttle valve assembly and whether specific error codes might be stored in the ECU. They may have decided it didn't apply to your vehicle on the basis that you have not reported any malfunction lights being on.

If your dealer is fobbing you off, your best bet at this point would be to register on erWin and pay for an hour's subscription and download it yourself if it applies to your vehicle.
