Start/Stop Error

Recommended Posts

My FL VRS 245 has had an intermittent error with the auto start/stop system pretty much from the word go. This is not the legitimate "cabin temp is to low" kind of thing, the car actually flags up (from time to time) "start/stop system error" when you start up and then doesn't stop/start. I haven't worried too much as it doesn't have any significant impact on using the car, but I guess I should get it fixed.

Any ideas what is most likely to be at fault?

Sounds like a trip to the dealer and fix-it-under-warranty thing to me. Could be a sensor, or pretty much anything!

Yes absolutely...just interested in what might have caused this for others.

I had a defective stop start system on my Polo where the start motor didn’t engage the flywheel. Turns out the flywheel was defective. Oh and a new clutch went in too. Not bad for a car with 6000 miles on the clock. Was crap.
