Dash light faults

Featured Replies

Hiya

Really hope someone can help? Please bear with me....... I decided to look at fitting the additional wire to my Columbus unit, so Bluetooth would play through left speakers as well as right. Taking the unit out was easy thanks to previous Briskoda posts and after removing and inspecting the plugs from the head unit and the unit under the seat, I decided it was a job for another day. I returned the plugs to the units and decided to check the head unit was working before re-installing. At this point I realised I had not plugged the Airbag light back in, so now have a Air bag fault. This I was not too concerned about. I also needed to check the interior lights as I was installing LED 501 replacements. Did this and noticed some charring around the switch terminals on the pcb. Made a note to change later and re-installed. All was working fine. I then decided to look at setting the keys up with the seat positions and after a bit of messing about, realised this wasn't working, even though my key was locking and unlocking the car with an audible beep now. I realised that the LED interior lights were dim and couldn't get them back on any of the switch settings, so I decided to return the old bulbs. These didn't work and I noticed that the footwell lights also weren't working. I checked the fuses, all ok. Tried turning on the ignition and all hell broke loose! Bulb errors galore, engine fault, air bag faults, steering, tyre pressure etc. Then gradually, each time I tried to start the car the lights flickered and the dial needles had problems spanning the dials and stop started. Each time I tried to start the car there was only clicking and no ignition. I read that disconnecting the battery could help with clearing the ECU but this did nothing. Can anyone please help as the car is now disabled??

You have drained the battery that's all get a charger for it and get it checked out at a garage for health then replace if needed.;)

The Superbs battery are famous for being crap:crying:

Cheers DEL80Y ;) After buying a new charger, which said the battery was fully charged!? Then buying a new battery, normality is now restored. Thanks for the confirmation that Skoda batteries are, indeed crap!
