GB Meet

Featured Replies

Just a feeler, and I believe this has been done before, but what are people's thoughts on a Great Britain meet? Probably somewhere in the midlands would be best and because of the numbers would require a fair amount of planning, but after the success of the Cat & Fiddle meet recently with it's 25 cars, I see no reason that given a suitable venue that a larger scale version wouldn't be feasible.:)

A poll was done on this recently by the Staff team and the Midlands came out as a vastly preferred option for most people. :) I suspect they have something up their sleeve - Its just not been announced yet.

sounds a cool idea!

i think scotland would be better ;)

:P :D I think Briskoda should setup discounted hotel rooms for our further afield brethrens. :)

Judging by the numbers at the Cat & Fiddle meet, we'll need to find a Pontins or something and rent the place out. :D

Thanks for the heads-up Jase, no doubt a Brisky staff member will let us know.

I think Anglesey would be a great location for a GB meet!

What a splendid idea, how about Milton Keynes? Walkie has kindly offered to put us all up at his place :)

How about booking a complete camp site, and having a Weekender ? I am sure there must be some 'campers' amongst us? ( tongue slightly in cheek )

Campsite idea could work, assuming the weather is OK . . . otherwise it'll be an Octy 4x4 event only. :D

Woohooo! I'll second the Anglesey bid! Not like I'm selfish and only thinking of myself or anything like that.................................

Hi,

Could I suggest Donington.

A track day

A visit to the museum

Relatively cheap B&B

Kids adventure sites nearby?

John

Castle Combe appears quite good value to hire out as well. But it would need 60+ cars to be willing to pay £100+, and also it would have to be midweek to get the best value. I suspect the Combe's weekend rates are into 5 figures?

Stanford Hall is next Sunday 7 May.

that's about as close to the middle of the country as you can get.

Jct 19 of M1 where the M6 / A14 cross it.

Its a simple turn up & picnic on the lawn type show,

but you'll see some really cool & really rare cars there.

Gates open 10am - 5pm

Skoda, Tatra, Lada, Wartburg, Daf, Borgwald & Trabant

owners clubs host it as their biggest joint meet.

IIRC 65 of the 130 cars last year were Skodas.

Briskoda Uk meet in Florida - guaranteed warm weather :)

I would go with midlands.

Anglesey is alright if you live within a 200 mile radius, wot about the people who live Kent. Cornwall, Norfolk & Scotland, the outer reaches of the British Isles.

How about Calais or Bolougne there are some quite good campsites & b&b's close

I'd be up for this too.....

Me Too.....

Midlands is best, easy to get to and central for most people. Except those in Scotland

I should be heading along to that.

There should be a good Skoda presence again this year.

and

Skoda Owners Club GB should be present. And it is the 30th Anniversary of the Estelle so should be a fantastic turn out. Plus you get to laugh at the Trabants.

tut tut meatballturbo

you should know better than to laugh at the trabants ...

that's what the daf owners club are invited for!!!

;)

actually, it's those modern new fangled computers on wheels

that you should laugh at, especially,

when you see the servicing bills!

my estelles not ready yet, :(

but, i'll be there in my minicab,

i mean octavia tdi :)

cheers .. darren

You're lucky, I get the modern "doohickey" servicing costs, and the price of fuel in my Maxigolf, Sorry, Octavia GLX.

When I bought this, I needed a car, and was looking for a felicia. On the same day I bought this, I was offered a 136 rapid with Sport kit and Weber. but I needed something for work, and the Rapid MOT ran out the day I needed it. It had sold about 20 miles away on ebay, but the guy who bought it couldn't be bothered to drive from Worcester to collect it, if I wanted it.
