Memory with electric seat

Featured Replies

So I think we can agree the brochure and the wording Skoda uses is confusing.

So in the brochure it states drivers electrically operated seat with memory function to individual keys.

Is that standard on the Edition, specifically for the individual keys, one for me one for my wife and have individual settings for each personlised key.

Or should I have asked for it as a extra when I ordered the car.

so my understanding from November is

Drive mode selection - gives the additionally ability to switch different driving modes i.e. Eco / Comfort / Sport and  Individual which driver can customise steering, lights, AC, car performance to preferred setting.

Personalisation of Drive mode selection - is you have to pay for across all editions, this give you 3 keys in total, 3 profiles plus guest to store  all different drivers/users to set their individual preferences i.e. for heating/ ambient light colours/ door mirror position/ and seat position ( if electric seats are chosen ) when the driver accesses the car, a menu appears in the speedometer asking which user is driving and then adjusts all pre-set setting accordingly.

Seat memory function - believe will allow you to store presets and will also sync with mirror position, thats it.

We chosen Personalisation of Drive mode selection so we can change driving seats seamlessly and many settings

I have just seen it on the skoda on line, I’m really annoyed now as I would have picked ii and was not told by the sales person. Might see if I can add it on tomorrow even though my build date is locked in.

its all confusing a bit, the description could be mistaken for Personalisation of driving mode i.e. modify sport mode, stiffer steering or things like that.

I initially thought that Personalisation of Drive mode selection is part of the standard package as its just software enabled feature (its like Microsoft wanting extra license costs so you can adjust settings on Windows 10 OS) but felt need to question this with dealer and then chosen it.

Doesn't hurt to ask dealer now.

According to the specs sheets I've seen the door mirror memory is a feature on the Edition.

"Electrically adjustable, heated and foldable door mirrors with auto dimming, memory function and boarding spots" which I assumed meant the mirrors are set to the key that opens the car.  The manual also mentions this.  I'm going to be pretty annoyed too if this isn't the case and I should have paid for the personalisation pack.

Just checked on the Skoda site and the drive mode personalisation is just for the drive mode to be saved to a particular key and this only includes the drive mode selection setting, not seat or mirrors etc. Bit ridiculous for £35.  From what I've seen the other personalisation settings on the Edition are standard. I think it was when I was building a Kodiaq before I ordered a Karoq that there was an additional personalisation option for a price that included things other than drive mode.

Clarification

hmm I think as long as you have folding mirrors and electric seats you can at least set these to presents on your seat buttons

Have a look in the manual that's where I learned some of this

You get the function of memory on the seat buttons for the seat and mirror function, not sure about the memory to the keys though, might be part of the £35 you pay because I think and I might be wrong you get the extra key. But Skoda and what you can or need to order is so confusing and frustrating.

I believe the seat and mirror position are assigned to whichever key is used when the car is locked - whether you have personalisation or not.

What the extra £35 personalisation adds, apart from a third key, is:

Assistance systems - Lane Assist, parking aid (Park Pilot).

Light - ambient lighting, convenience turn signal, COMING HOME / LEAVING HOME.

Climatronic - temperature in each individual area, fan speed, recirculation mode.

Infotainment settings - brightness level of the screen, keyboard arrange- ment.

Radio - sound settings, station sorting.
Media - shuffle / repeat title, selected video format.
Voice control - acoustic signals.
Navigation - home address, alternative routes, recommended route, reminder

of the lack of fuel.

according to the manual

Maybe if someone who has taken delivery of an Edition could clarify the situation.

I have had my Edition for 5 weeks now. The change for the seat and mirrors, is done by the memory selection on the drivers seat. The owners manual is sometimes misleading.

I my wife used the other key, setup the car to her driving style. Then I used my key, the seat or mirrors didn’t changed, the seat position mirrors only changed when pressing the memory button on the drivers seat.

My Karoq is a factory standard Edition, no extras.

Also, when setup the Skoda Connect, you need to use your phone as a hotspot or fit a SIM card into the slot. Very easy to setup, but the car will not pickup a external WiFi signal.

Well that’s disappointing  with the seats and using the keys.

Maybe it's different with the 'personalisation of driver mode selection............

We've got the memory seats (but not drive mode personalisation) on our Karoq and it *does* work off the keys but you have to enable it in the vehicle settings , see page 81 of the manual.  Once you have it enabled when you open the drivers door it will move it to the setting  associated with your key.

Also the Skoda connect does work with external wifi , I've got it connecting to our house Wifi network without any issues.

The Skoda Connect didn’t pickup any external WiFi , even from any of the neighbours . It may be different you may a Irish spec’d car.

You’re right, my Karoq is factory standard, no additions.

Ricey7000, you’re right about the seats. All ready activated , in the menu. Top tip, don’t have both keys in your pocket.

UK manual, page 81 doesn’t mention about personalising the vehicle, just mentions about the boot area.

technically if system can pick up mobile phone hotspot - which is essentially you turn your phone into wirelesss router/access point

then it should pick up other wifi networks but all depends on signal quality and distance

I had a problem with mine not picking up external wifi  - and realised that if there is a SIM card in the Colombus slot it disables the external wifi.

It does still allow you to use the SIM card to create an internal wifi hotspot.

I have a SIM card fitted now. Before I didn’t pickup any external WiFi’s, before switching on the mobile phone hotspot.

For what it's worth - I have a MY17 Octavia with memory seats (but without the Personalisation option, I'm not sure it was even avaliable then) and the seats adjust to the position that was last used by the respective key.
