VRS gearbox removal

Featured Replies

Going to be changing my clutch soon along with dmf and was wanting a few tips as to best way to go about it

Been reading old threads on here and seems some people are dropping the subframe and others doing it just by removing the o/s flange and manoeuvring it out

Would like to know which bolts are essential to replace, i know the engine mount bolts are, but what about the driveshaft ones and the gb to engine bolts?

Im assuming a genuine flywheel with come supplied with new bolts for it as i'm guessing they are self locking type.

Ive done a 5 speed fabia box before so know the basic procedure but i know the 6 speed is a lot heavier so any additional tips would be appreciated

Can a eezibleed be used for the clutch or is it best to manually pump it using 2 people

Thanks

6mm Allen bolt holds the os driveshaft flange , remove although you will have to drop the oil out.

We sometimes Jack the engine forwards with a scissor Jack between the block and subframe.

Lastly spin the diff upwards once box is off the dowels and refit the same.

Ah ok thanks puddy, got to renew the diff seals anyway so will be draining oil and removing those flanges.

which bolts do you normally replace?

I left the flange in place and dropped the subframe. Was fun getting it out and more fun getting it in.

I got new flywheel bolts with the LUK kit.

Only replace the dmf bolts.

Good luck.
