just wondering

Featured Replies

just wondering which speed camera detecter people use, and how useful u find them? i have just got a snooper s2 gps its good for fixed sites but poor for mobile detection vans.

Went For an RA2! Been great so far and since it is GPS based totally legal too........for the moment!!!!

Have been using TALEX now for about six months and have to say its very good. Has picked up every single fixed camera and also gives warnings on potential 'laser' sites. Talex has had plenty of positive reports on here and came second only to the Road Angel in a recent Autocar test. Gets a wholehearted  from me.

There is a link on here to a recent thread regarding this for those that are interested. See here and here.

I knew you would pop up at the slightest hint of a Talex, Gerry and Seandolon will be along shortly no doubt!! :P

You thought right!. As you well know this has been one of my more successful purchases and I'm happy to pass on my experience of it and recommend it to fellow Briskodian's, which reminds me, havn't you recently got rid of a Road Angel and SWMBO's Snooper S2 for a two TALEX's?, or was that a dream? :P :D:thumbup:

I use Road Pilot micro, very good on fixed cameras but sketchy on mobile sites. However as its an install in car job you can only use it in one car. Pros is the valuable bit is very small (same area as skoda flip key and same depth) and easy to take with you and it has a screen. No speaker mind but does show speed limit and a countdown to the cameras and beebs only if you are going to fast. But I must say having a quick look at the talex had it been available at the time I would have proberbly bough that.

Im using a snooper S2 at the moment which does the job, only thing I dont like are the flashing blue/red lights on the front, way to bright IMO, not sure if you can turn them down (ill have to check).

The unit hasnt failed to alert me to any cameras as yet.

I drove past some specs camaras last weekend and the unit alerted me with time to spare, it continues to remind you that you are in an average speed zone until your clear. Its times like that im glad ive got it because those specs are not easy to spot, especially if your in an unfamiliar area.

It cost the same as one speeding fine (+ subscription) so its got to be worth it.

I have a road angel navigator, it shows all fixed cameras(plus average speed cameras on A77/M77 which are spread over 26 painful miles!) in my area plus warns of blackspots, etc, with the added advantage of satnav with full postcode input. Must say have had no complaints so far.
