Karoq Tyres

Featured Replies

In an idle moment, while waiting for my 1.5TSI Edition, I wondered just how expensive the skinniest tyres in the range might cost to replace.

In an unscientific look, using data from Micheldever/Protyre, I took average prices and the amount of tyre choice for each of the six Karoq models, SE, SEL and Edition

I was pleased to see that the skinniest tyres are not the most expensive, but still cost a fair bit

Starting with the most expensive:

Model                Tyre Choice        Average price          Price range

Edition 4x4              8                         £209                     182 -245

SEL  4x4                   3                         £196                      190-206

Edition                   14                         £179                      156-204

SEL                            3                        £164                       154-176

SE  4x4                   36                        £130                         82-193

SE                           35                        £118                         73-154

As I say, not a qualitative assessment, but just a rough guide

Thank you Boiledbeef, useful info there.

I found a tyre suitable for an Edition karoq for only £63.35 fully fitted.

Pretty amazing that anyone has worn out the tyres on their Karoq yet.

But would you fit them if you have spent so much on your car?

Many will, bang them on before returning that Rented Karoq before hand back if it needs tyres.

Arnold Clark and other pile them high and punt them out used car sellers will chuck on any old tyres anyway before reselling.

Buyers beware.

Generally find Black Circles quite competitive. For example 186MPH rated P Zeroes for VRS Octavia 225/40 R18 delivered 4 tyres under £300.

I've used Black Circles for years. I have always been happy with the price, and I've not been disappointed by competence of the local firms that they use to fit their tyres.

I've used Tyres on the Drive a fair few times and can't fault their service, came to my work place and can pay cash or card to the guy after they are fitted.

I am unlikely to need to have to change the tyres on my forthcoming rented Karoq over 16k miles and 24 months. On the outgoing Tiguan I swapped front to back after a year and returned it with approx 5mm all round the original tyres. An other factor in favour of renting IME.

Well seeing as it is a 24 month (104 weeks) & only 16,000 miles of a lease that is understandable.

Hardly a high mileage driver.

If you get the car back to them in 2 years and under 18,500-20,000 miles the first service is not even due.

Indeed although I have a feeling that the variable service interval may prompt us earlier than 16k miles as we will be doing quite a lot of town driving and short trips.

Would be interesting to see the lease company v's Skoda on this subject, as my octavia flagged a service at 16k, but the dealer told me to ignore it as it didn't need doing till 18k !

& with a Motability owned vehicles leased to customers the Main Dealership might tell owners and some do to go away and wait til 20,000 miles.
