Regen happening too often

Featured Replies

Hi All

The VRS is doing a regen very often. It was doing it yesterday and the wife gave it a good blast along the motorway and it cleared, back to normal tickover etc.

She did a couple of very short runs and when she came home it was high tickover and fans on again.

It's been doing them fairly often for a while but not the same day. It's got 85,000 miles on it and was professionally cleaned out about 5000 miles ago when we had bother after a REVO map was done.

What is the procedure to check the DPF with VCDS?

What values should I be looking for?

Cheers

Dave

Seen this Android phone App - VAG DPF  it is supposed to be fantastic for giving more info than you'll ever need about your DPF. Been recommended on the facebook group for people having problems with the emissions fix.

I've not used it myself but I know you need a cheap bluetooth OBDII reader for the phone to pair to.

I tried that (well the free one) but the cheap OBD readers I have didn't work with it.

I have the full legit VCDS but I am not sure how to check the DPF readings.
