I was wondering about this option, does the carplay work when connected wirelessly?

If I don't plug the phone into the usb socket it doesn't automatically mirror.

BT disconnects when connected to Carplay.

no idea i have not yet put the charger qi, I'm looking for someone who has already done and who would have done a tutorial

Android Auto and MirrorLink definitely do not work wirelessly.

Need to be cabled.

I've never used CarPlay, so I can't comment on that.

The Qi wireless charging is pointless if you use AA or Carplay since they require tethered connection

I suppose the easy option is to buy a wireless charging dock and plug it in, then just rest your phone on that?

A quick look on the internet and the pads are from around £10.

Just ask someone familiar with the nomencalture to do it for You.

It's not difficult job, however need some knowledge of the principles.

Hi, I reactivate this topic because I have the same problem of @andirs and @Skodasuperbco, I bought the OEM wireless phone charger with its wiring on the skoda-partz.cz website but it wasn't provided with the assembly manual, someone can indicate the position of where the wires must be connected?

I already cut the plastic in the glove box to make more space and i have the VCDS for coding, i just need to know where to connect the wires (apart the antenna booster)

Thank you

Hi @matbeva, did you succed in installing the OEM phone box ?

I'm on my way to install mine, bought everything but the wiring.

Hi @cryoxdsl,

in the end I managed to assemble everything with the help of some photos and information found on a Russian forum ( https://www.drive2.ru/l/519364488936292562/);  in my wiring there were only 4 wires even if the connector carries 5, the first two are + 12V and the other two are GND, the fifth -as mentioned- was not present. I connected the power (+12V) of the wireless pad in the fuse box to a under key source; in the end it mounts exactly like those non OEM found on Aliexpress or eBay, no interface with the CAN line or the MIB.

The only problem I encountered is that the mat in the changing tray is very thick and if I use the phone (iphone XS) with the case the phone doesn't always recharge, sometimes it just takes a hole or a bump on the way to lose the connection; if I want to be sure to charge the phone I have to remove the case.

In order to connect the GSM amplifier cable to the pad, I had to buy this adapter on Aliexpress: https://it.aliexpress.com/item/32881842021.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4dhW3biM so I avoided using the GSM cable sold together with the pad power cable  - which is 5 meters long - and which I should have rolled up under the dashboard because I already had the original GSM wiring installed in the car (and honestly I haven't seen any benefit from the GSM signal amplifier).

I'm sorry but I can't post photos because I forgot to take them during the installation, I hope this explanation will be useful for you ..

I'm looking at doing this to my 2012 superb combi. It has the colombus touchscreen head unit. I'm hoping it's just a plug in type thing

I have the wireless charger.  Don't bother, its rally slow, the phone just overheats in the little cubby hole especially if you use apple car play.  Just use the USB2.0 plug in the arm rest (not the USB-c as that is dog slow as well!)

I find the wireless charger helpful as I use the phone via BT for Spotify and calls. It does heat up quite a bit but keeps my battery topped up on 4+hour drives. I could use some tips for cooling - even thought of Peltier elements or

similar?
