Sun roof leaking.

Featured Replies

Not Skoda but the same principle applies.

i tried on The Renault forum but didn't get much response.

the sun roof on my wife's old Clio is leaking.

dealer wants silly money ( I.e. More than the car is worth ) to put it right

it's not a sliding roof , just opens by tilting a little.

The seal had gone.

I've seen a few vids on YouTube of people removing the roof themselves and masticing the seal. But I haven't got the confidence to do it.

I'm thinking of just getting some silicon sealer and filling the small grove between the glass and the metal roof.

I realise  she won't be able to open it then, but that isn't a problem.

what do you think

Thanks

Try some petroleum jelly on the seal it gives it some new life. And silicone would seal it shut no doubt.
