Featured Replies

Hi getting my new sel estate in 2 weeks and am looking for some advise on connecting 2 phones at the same time, one via Bluetooth and one using the USB for the data connection.

Is it possible to make and receive calls on both phones connected like this or would I have to connect both phones to Bluetooth, cannot find an answer in the manual.

Cheers for any help can’t wait to get get new car and get rid of my i30.

Or is the USB just for android auto and the connect apps etc.if so can you have it connected to the USB and the Bluetooth at the same time and still use it to make and receive calls and use for data connection.

Sorry if the questions are a bit dumb first cleaver car I have had.

You can have 2 phones connected to bluetooth at the same time no problem...

HOWEVER - if you plug one phone in and select it to connect via android auto, you can have only have 1x phone paired as it disables the phone bluetooth connection and uses the cable.

Hi Rick thanks for the info,do the Skoda apps like Skoda connect and one app need to use the cable connection and if yes do they disable the Bluetooth connection on the phone.

I have two phones connected over bluetooth (Samsung and Apple), one touch switches between them.  Don't recall what happens when the "second" phone rings - I think you just switch on the display.

There is an i-pod connected to the USB socket, it has more memory than the two phones combined.

That would be the same as me an iPhone and soon a S9+,Do you use the connect apps or the one app at all ? .

Your car is the colour I wanted but had to have Quartz grey as the company got a free upgrade from SE Technology to the SEL Exec so cant complain but might miss the front parking sensors as have them on the i30 and the superb is much bigger even bigger I think than my old Insignia.

Thanks for your help.

You can connect multiple phones via bluetooth simultaneously but if using CarPlay it will not allow a second phone to be connected (Amundsen at least) via bluetooth.

Skoda Connect App does not require a data connection between your phone and the car, this app is updated through the web.

Skoda OneApp requires that you are connected via USB or Wifi to the infotainment system (not sure if it works when using your phone as a hotspot)

Your infotainment system will need a data connection (SIM card, Phones Hotspot or USB CarStick) for traffic updates, online destinations set by Skoda Connect App, etc.

So you can use two phones at the same time via bluetooth and use the above apps but not when using CarPlay or Android Auto afaik (applies to my18 cars at least). You can only connect one phone at a time to CarPlay.
