I bought used can gateway, but the car say: safe cp (componróent protection)

If I buy a new one can gateway ,then it will not be component protection?

I think the component protection can only be unlocked by a dealer with the correct system for coding.

Im pretty sure a new one will have the same problem.

Unless all of the components are new, you will have to recode the one you are changing/adding to your system.

Gateway location:  pedals between the under steering rod.

But if you change gateway you need remove component protection.

If you have vas5054a interface, than i can help you.

does it have to be online? or can it be offline ?

Has to be online sadly. Needs to be done with the Gateway plugged into the car. I was all ready to book the equipment to have mine done but the BCM hasn’t arrived so I’m waiting on a refund before I can get another and book it out.

How can I check if my CAN is low mid or high? Is it possible with Vagcom?

Would anybody have a can gateway for sale with cp removed already by any chance finding it very hard for anyone to do the cp removal here in Ireland that won't cost an arm and a leg and Skoda main dealer won't entertain it either 

I don't think you can 'remove' CP from a CAN-gateway. It's only something I've seen offered on hacked headunits.

 

There are plenty of services who can do remote CP removal but you'll need a VAS5054a or similar.

No idea if either are any good so it's not a recommendation

Reading the forms it can be done through Odis and vas as well I saw Someone selling one on here with cp removed so I thought I'd reach out and ask.  Over here they charge 150 for it which I thought was expensive for something like that to be honest but maybe it's not.
