Banging front end

Featured Replies

Hi I have a 2004 fabia vrs that has a loud banging noise from the front end when hitting pot holes. Bumps. Raised and lowered iron works and dips on roads. It sounds like the suspension is bottoming out. Used to do it with stock suspension. Changed wishbone. Drop links. Top mounts. Now have bilstein shocks and eibach springs. Still does it. Please help.

Poly bushes fitted. No movement. It's like a metal on metal sound.goes right through the front of the car. Going to investigate the engine mounts next.

could be the lower mount (dogbone)

Cheers. Going to Jack up later and try to check all mounts.

Agreed, ive been through a couple of aftermarket ones always go genuine

Have changed the console bushes? Mine Fabia was the same as yours and I changed everything that you have changed and the knocking still stayed - changed the console bushes and it stopped. If you can jack the car up, check to see if there's any play in the bottom suspension. You'll be able to move everything around with just a pry bar....

Console bushes changed with Meyle HD bushes and HD droplinks.  Still there, like I said it sounds like metal to metal or suspension bottoming out.
