Best alloy wheel brush

Featured Replies

What's the best sort of brush to get to clean alloys ( three sets, black painted and two silver painted, one of which has smallish gaps between the spokes)?

I would advise that you get an EZ detail brush, they are very flexible and can get behind spokes and wheel barrels

black wheels tend to scratch more easily so to be extra safe you can use a seperate washmitt

All the normal types of brushes tend to give off a fair bit of splatter when you use them on the inside of the rim, I now use Wheel Woolies (similar to the carbon collective ones above) and they are far better at keeping YOU clean whilst cleaning the wheels, you do need to be more careful with them though as being made from wool you can damage them on the brake disc backplates if you are too rough with them (or use too thick a brush)

My wheel woolies broke after a month they dont seem very durable and you cant use any aggressive wheel cleaners with them

Another vote for the EZ detail brushes here. I use the large one for the barrel and between the spokes, the small one I bend a little for doing between the spoke and front of the brake caliper and the rest of the caliper and the EZ brush Go for the wheel arches.

To be honest you could get away with just the large for the first two jobs but I bought the small one first then realised I could be doing with the larger one.

They're all nicely made, no exposed metal to damage the finish on your wheels and generally feel pretty robust.

I use a 3 quid Kent one off Amazon to scrub my tyres sidewalls. It's advertised as an alloy wheel brush but no one with half a clue would put it near their wheels.

Edited to add in2detailing is the cheapest place I could find them.

My wheel woolies are excellent however the Triglav wheels have large spaces between the spokes. If I had the Sirius wheels they make take more hammer due to the reduced clearance.

Gone for EZ detail brush. Thanks for the recommendations - I post back my opinion of it in action!

Good choice - would have been my recommendation.

EZ brushes work very well in most cases.

Complimented with wheel woolies - you wont go far wrong.
