Leather seat base change

Featured Replies

I have searched ways how to balance driver and co-driver leather seat base wear. My car has ~200K km mileage and drivers seat base (brown leather) is worn out. From dealer is pretty much impossible to order new leather for my seat. Therefore I got idea to switch driver seat base leather cover with co-driver one, as it is very good condition and looks like brand new. Is it possible to make such a swap or seat bases and leather covers are different?

Here you can see instructions, how to remove and assembly Skoda Superb 2 textile seat cover, which is similar to leather one:

Sounds like a good idea. I'd measure things, and inspect them visually and if the same then why not give it a go?

air bag pre tear will be on the wrong side.

Is there an airbag in the seat base?

I know there is one in the side bolster of the seat back but assuming the OP only switches the seat base they might be ok?

As langers2k already mentioned, there is no airbag in seat base, only in side bolster of seat back. I have looked possibility to change only seat base, as seat back has lumbar support lever (hole in leather bolster) and airbag in one side of seat.
