Hello from Scotland

Featured Replies

Hello, I'm Iain. I currently drive an FN2 Civic Type R but have just placed an order for a Superb SEL 280.

Before the civic I had a mark 7 golf gti so I'm looking forward to having something with some torque again! The Honda isn't exactly known for being torquey haha

I've been on here reading bits of the forum for a few months and it's great!

Welcome to Briskoda

Hello Lain welcome to the Skoda forum you won't be disappointed B)

Welcome Iain!  You're the second new member on here getting a 280!

Thanks for the welcome all!

Unfortunately my dealer called today and said Skoda wouldn't accept my order as they were stopping production of the 280 engine :crying:

I presume this is down to the new regulations in June so I'll wait and see what the outcome is

Wow, the 280 is going!  I wasn't aware of that.  Will be a few very unhappy potential owners if that's the case!!

I think they will be back after the Summer shut down. Going by this thread anyway

So fingers crossed I can get one at some point. Be it second hand or a new one after summer

I've posted this in a Superb MY19 thread but I finally have an estimated build week!

I placed an order through another dealer in May which was accepted finally. Looking at a possible October pickup. Looking forward to it!

As a further update, I'm still waiting! I've been told it has left the factory so I might see it in November fingers crossed

Good question!

Always been a Honda lover. The golf was an eye opener into forced induction and refinement. I wanted away from pcp finance so went back to a 2nd hand Honda after my three years in the gti were up.

I like the civic but me and the Mrs are thinking of starting a family in the next year or so so I wanted some ride comfort and refinement again. The 272ps should keep the petrolhead in me happy!

Golfs are an eye opener..so are MK3 Octavia's...mates had Audis, & last was a A5....ended up getting an Octavia vrs due to kids...can't believe the handling...said the Audi felt "dead" by comparison...

Like when people get in my MK7 Golf estate...most can't believe its just a "Golf"...

& Superbs..huge car ….hello..ello.l…...llo….lo....o......echo...cho….ho....o....

All sounds good!

My mate runs a golf r estate and it's lovely.

I fancied the boat like handling of the superb. The civic isn't the last word in refinement so I was looking for comfort!

And yes, I'm hoping the superb can and will take absolutely anything I try and load into it
