Central locking button malfunction (coding issue ??)

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I have a 2013 Octavia 3 and I am very pleased with it. I noticed 2 weeks ago that the lock/unlock button of the central console is no longer working ...

No reaction when pressing it, the green LED is ON when the lights are ON, but it never goes yellow when doors are locked (the doors are automatically locked when driving). All the other buttons of the panel are working fine.

I have played a bit with Carista before noticing this issue, and I cannot tell for sure if it comes from this.

Does any of you know if there is an enabling bit in the coding to activate the button ?

Thanks a lot for your help !

What did you change when you were playing about?

Activation of auto-locking when driving, unlock when ignition OFF, and some other stuff. But nothing that should (in theory) directly deactivate the central button ...

In theory yes, but you don’t actually know what Carista is changing. I would suggest a plug in on VCDS or OBDEleven (with PRO pack) to have a proper look at the coding, see if there is anything in there.

Unfortunately I don't have either ... If someone could check if a button activation bit exist, I would really appreciate !

If I get chance, I'll have a look later :)

Did you try to re-pair the key-fob with the car?

The process is defined in the manual, something like IgnOff-IgnOn, press & hold the lock button for x seconds, IgnOff to save.

Has your change affected all of the keys for the car?

Gabbo, my key fog is OK, it's the dashboard switch that is not working ...

But thanks bro ;)

Without seeing what you changed exactly it’s pure guesswork. And that’s probably not a good idea.

Actually my question now is, is there a coding bit to enable/disable the button ?

  • 6 years later...

same problem here.

actiavted so that trunk comes down on remote key and all of the sudden rear doors wont lock.

cental button wont lock, since it cannot complete locking, tzhen it wont unlock again.

in theory, if central locking is normal it should lock the car if setting are to lock in driving, but not wokring any more.

i have looked all central electric coding, all ZV parameters, are all active. Hade simmiliar octavia and saw all the coding and comparing, all settings are the same, but rear doors wont work.

did this changes on another octavia and iwt worked normal...
