Start-stop system status info button

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Anyone any idea what the "i" icon is near the top right of the Start-stop system status display? I'm guessing i = info but doesn't appear to do anything. Pressing the "button" switches it between off and on.

My initial assumption was that it controlled whether Start-stop messages would pop up on other screens, but I was getting the messages pop up over Google maps yesterday with it set to off. Maybe a software bug?

Couldn't see anything in the manual and online pictures of start-stop screens don't have the icon.

That’s interesting. On my Superb and my Octavia before that, start stop status comes up on the maxi dot only.

Is the screen display not simply a secondary indication of what the big button with orange lamp is telling you?

Lots of the screen displays use the “I” key to show additional options or indications - as you have discovered here.

Nope doesn't seem to have any link to the physical button or the start-stop system being enabled / disabled

I have noticed that the start stop message appears sometimes and when presseing the 'i' icon it give messages about the last restart such as "The vehicle in front moved off" etc.

Sorry please ignore my post from 8th April. Driving the car today I realised I got the info the wrong way around. Correct info is:

The "i on" / "i off" message at the top of this screen the ACTION of pressing the "button" rather than the current status.

This is slightly unintuitive i.e. with "i off" at the top as per the pic, the start-stop info will pop up at the top of the display on other screens e.g. if you stop and it's it activating for some reason.
