When will the vRS order books open

No one can accurately predict what a car is actually worth in four years time.

Many factors play a part and all this scaremongering doesn’t really help.

A GFV is a guaranteed future value which is always worse case scenario and more often than not a car will fetch significantly more than that.

Ive just bought a brand new motor, significantly less than manufactures RRP , discounted by dealer and a Skoda £3000 subsidy thrown in.

I still think about the money it’s losing but hey ho that’s my choice.

Cars will always lose money and that’s life. If we want to make money then spend it on a house.

Audi, VW , Skoda, Seat do,

because they are getting them back, and are landed with not selling because the Asking Price is too high, so they give too much in a trade in so that the Residuals do not look bad.

Try buying one cash and selling it with no trade in, that is the real depreciation.

Not the manipulation of the market, cheep finance, Manufacturers / Dealers Contribution, pyramid selling,  Flooding the market, No.1 Biggest Car manufacturer in the world for 6 months, then caught cheating.

The RS is being discontinued after 2 years for a very good reason.

They are stopping production of the mk3 Ford Focus  and the RS (being a mk3) is build on the same production lines.

The RS traditionally comes along late in model life and always has a short life span to see the model out as a halo product to help keep interest and sales up.

If they don't shut the production lines, they can't produce the next model... :D

The mk4 ST will come out before the RS so it does make sense to up it's power as it won't compete with the RS.  The RS has already finished production.

The other point, "Fundamental Design, Manufacturing and Material failures".

Well, Ford dropped one on the RS and fitted the wrong head gasket.  Allegedly the Mustang 2.3 one, which uses the same base engine.

This has lead to issues which were corrected last year and earlier cars are now all covered by a recall.

Annoying to owners yes, but not what you state which is vauge.

They are pressure testing cars and either fitting a new head gasket or a new head depending on the results of the test.

Boss, have you had your recall letters yet?

Tested and fixed, after you one engine failure early on ,did the other hold up okay?

Not getting a Heritage then?

They TRY to accurately predict, but almost always get it wrong - and with the rapid change in attitude to diesels nobody can accurately predict what the value of petrols or diesels will be in 4 years time.

They know they will still be making money and customers will be paying,  and bosses will still be rich.  Maybe serve some time in jail but only if middle management.
