What does TPI stand for?

I believe a TIP means a "Technical Information Paper".

Used widely in industry to advise agents, dealers, etc. about remedies for problems that have become apparent to the manufacturer.

Less serious than a Recall, which would probably refer to a safety issue.

It means VAG don't advertise any little snags to the customer. We all have to complain individually, reinforcing our complaints with reference to a forum such as this for example.

(I couldn't find a car one)

For all these years with VW they were TPI, s  Technical Product Information.   So handy for SKODA SECRET SERVICE SERVICE CAMPAIGN ACTIONS.  Strictly need to know and owners and drivers need not know.  Loose lips costs VW sales.

I just can’t remember whether the Job Sheet I saw last week with a hand written note said “TPI” or “TIP”.

It doesn’t matter - we’re all singing the same song.
