Radio wouldn't switch off!!

Featured Replies

The problem is cured now, but I was wondering if anyone else had suffered it.

2014 Citigo Black edition with Garmin PID. Got in the car after around 6 hours at work & radio dispay said SDS.

Media wouldn't work & no sound from PID for sat nav, although sat nav displayed O.K.

Got to destination & radio didn't turn off when key was pulled out of ignition as normal or with power butoon either.

Removed PID & radio came on & switched off as normal, PID back on dash problem reoccurred.

After fiddling around with phone, media for a couple of minutes it all went back to normal, which is great.

Trouble is I don't what caused it in the first place, nor what I did to fix it.

I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas.

Is the PID updated to the latest firmware?

Probably not as I've had the car a year & not done any such thing.

How do you update it & does it update to the latest maps or do you have to pay Garmin loads of money for that service?

To update the firmware you need to connect it to a computer.

You'll also need to download the garmin fresh software onto your computer

for updated maps It’ll cost unless you’ve already bought updates.

A word of warning; updates via the Garmin website can take HOURS, be prepared and don't interrupt the download or you'll have to start again!

I updated mine on Garmin Fresh and It took about 20 mins if I remember correctly, I don't know what the factors are that make it take hours though I know some of these things can be a real pain in the ***.
