EPC light on & limp mode....??

Featured Replies

Hi guy's,

Just looking some help with possible diagnosis of fault..  car serviced last week @ Skoda and they informed me one of my coils beneath spark plugs was loose potential to break so they didn't change plugs and recommended I change all coils / plugs, parts ordered just waiting arrival..

However on the way home tonight 5 days later the car starts to lose power then EPC light came on and she went into limp mode..

Could the above be related? Or any guidance as to what the fault could be b4 I get it checked...? "2014 Oct VRS 2.0 TSI.."

Thanks in advance..

Without knowing what the fault code is causing the warning light its difficult to know as almost all engine related faults will light the lamp.

However, it does seem like coincidence after their recommendation last week.

I am amazed that they dont have plugs & coils in stock already so they could change it there & then. Aren't these standard service items for the petrol engine?

When you give it back, ask them for the fault code list.

If the fault code is caused because they have left a damaged part in your car, I would be asking for something as compensation & a guarantee any other engine related faults which come from this are covered by them.

Thanks..

I supply all my parts as dealerships are too dear 50% cheaper on what they where charging me for the 4 coils... new coils are here now and its getting sorted monday morning they thought that it probably is related to the coil/plug issue... and if so there wont be any extra charge....

They where happy yo let me take the car away last week and rebook me in when i got the parts which suggests they had no concerns on the car being driven

If there is a knock on effect any idea what those parts maybe so i can be prepared for that convo on monday morning?

Thanks again.
