Window slipping out motor

Featured Replies

So both somehow of my windows, will go down, but then slip, and ive got to manually hold them up and press the motor and wait til it gets to the top which holds them in place, I'm wondering, will this be those tensiony white brackets (I saw while watching window mech replacement videos) or does this sound like something else. Don't want to start taking apart and then have to get parts from somewhere.

Thanks in advance

The motors attach to the front of the door carrier. There are two large blanking grommets also. Remove the grommets and you can inspect and tighen/untighten the window clamps holding the glass. Motor is held on with three screws/bolts with rubbery white washers underneath. might be worth checking they're tight.

Having written all that.... If the problem presented itself at the same time on both doors, it reads more like electricals.

Thanks for the response! Will these be obvious once opened (never been near windows in a car) I shall try have a look over the weekend, the problem didn't present at the same time, there was an 8month gap, but with it being winter I've not really cared, the motor appears/ sounds like it's working okay, but that the windows aren't sitting where they should

Once you've removed your door card, the big black grommets will just need popping out for you to visibly see whether or not the window is slipping out of the clamps. You will obviously have to re attach your window winder control to get the clamps into view. Oh, I guarantee that you will snap most of your little green clips that hold your door card on. So get some bought off e-bay.

Right, I'll have a look for some of those before I begin!

Thanks, will that be enough?

There is 6 of them in each front door so you will have plenty.
