Chrome trim coming away from rubber seal

Featured Replies

Yesterday I noticed that the chrome trim at the rear passenger side was misaligned, and when i checked it, it has actually partially come away from the rubber seal.  I know that this has been an issue for several Superb drivers.

See photo attached which shows it after i slightly pulled it out.  I've pushed it back in for now but obviously needs permanently fixed.  Going to go to dealer but tempted just to stick it back on myself to avoid the hassle.

What should i use / What should dealer be using to adhere this back on?

There is a TPI for that. Contact your dealer - should be fixed FOC.

Dealer has agreed to fix FOC.    Is there a reference for this TPI?

We will see how good the repair is!

Car booked in for a repair.  Said they will need it for a couple of days which I hope means it is all done right!

The repair took approx. 1 hour for both front doors on mine.

Thanks Gaselle

They fixed it?

Thought I had gotten away with this one after nearly 3 years but .... Car was at Dealers yesterday for a Suspension fix. Arrived home and.... Twang ..... What was that ?? Yup chrome trim sticking out ! Typical ...

I think it's the front passenger door trim that's rubbing against the rear door trim - mine's been 'fixed' but it's still not right.
