Still the biggest disappointment with my car is Skoda made a major update of my radio within weeks of purchase

In April 2015 the link is to some of  the posts at the time. Original owners were promised the earth to fix it and Skoda knew there was no fix possible.

Sorry for moaning but i feel better :) Joe

Not surprised about the moan, I'd be gutted too as the media system was one of the main reasons I bought the Skoda Fabia. If it makes you feel any better, it's rubbish...

I am very happy with the radio missed out on the android and apple mapping system by 10 weeks but i did get a Garmin satnav out of them, sadly not built-in Joe

We're about even then.

I really wanted a built in sat-nav but didn't want to pay the extra two grand for my alternative choice of car with it (Seat Leon). Was very happy that I could use Google Maps and simply upgraded my GiffGaff goodybag by £2.50 per month for the extra data. The advantage you've got is that if you ever rent a car, you can rent the cheapest and take your sat-nav with you - win | win.

It really is a very good system for the car's price point with or without the screen link thingey.

You can download an area to google maps and use this off line.

I struggle to get a phone signal let alone a data signal so for me this is useful.

I also download a map ready for when I go abroad. This has worked well for many years for me.
My first smartphone only had a 3.2 inch screen so the navigator/passenger used a 7 inch tab instead.

Thanks AG Falco

I also use the offline ability, it's great when you forget to switch mobile data on or you lose signal, helped me quite a few times in the past year.
