Hi Folks,

 

I just ordered a new Octavia 1.5 TSI DSG SEL on Saturday. On returning home I found that the invoice shows ‘Octavia Hatchback - 2017’. Derivative: 1.5 TSI SE L 5 dr DSG - 2017’

 

My concern is whether this is the latest model or is it an older model? Wondering why it’s not showing 2018. Do I need to be concerned? Any way of validating the month/year of purchase using VIN etc? The car is currently in Germany and expected to reach London in 3 to 4 weeks.  Thanks in advance.

Could it be because Skoda do not yet have the Real World Co2 g/km   VED bands / MPG test results required from September 2018, 

so what you are getting built is a Euro 6 1.5TSI with the VED band that presently applies?

I ordered the same car in December but none of the paperwork gives a year against the car spec, it's all Skoda Octavia Hatchback 1.5 TSI SE L 5DR DSG.

 

Sounds like your car was already built, so they had the colour / options in stock from 2017 production.

Hi Offski, Lordch,  Thank you for your response. Yes the car I ordered was already built and in stock. I have gone back to the dealer asking for the manufacture date. From what you told me it appears this is 2017 stock and I'm now concerned how long the vehicle might have been in the manufacturer stockyard. Will get back once I receive the manufacture date from the dealer. Thanks.

Great car choice by the way - picked mine up 1st March and it is superb!  Sorted a couple of minor bits - the dealer coded the rear DRL for me,  I got the Huwaei mobile wifi to connect the Sat-Nav to the internet for the fast traffic info, and the speed camera POI's available elsewhere on this forum (as VW don't offer them, even as a paid download ) and now I am well pleased with it.

 

OK so I may have ordered some LED bulbs for the rear indicators....

Hi Lordch, thank you for the response. I just received this reply from the dealership "Car was built 09/02/2018". So probably the vehicle order form shows 2017 because this is the 2017 facelift/derivative. 

 

I should receive the car in the next 3 - 4 weeks, guess till then I'll be an avid reader on this forum for tips/mods for the vehicle. Took a test drive of the 1.5TSI DSG over the weekend and yes it is a very peppy engine. Look forward to having the vehicle! Will check the forum for the speed camera POIs you mentioned. The gas struts for the bonnet too seems a good option.

Brilliant choice - been very happy with mine acquired November 2017. ordered a 1.4 TSi SE L DSG about 3 weeks in the 1.5 TSi DSG came out so changed my order - brilliant car.

Hi YMe, can see that you have the Race Blue. That's a lovely colour! And yes the 1.5TSI DSG is a wonderful engine.
