Tire Pressure Indication Fault

Featured Replies

Hi all, long time starker, first-time poster!

I've just got a Superb MKIII estate, I've got less than 1,500m on the clock, and so far I've had to call Skoda Assist out three times.  Twice for a glow plug fault and once for a blown tire while on the motorway.  Since I've had the tire replaced I've had an indication fault for the pressure system and can't clear it.

Is there anything I can do to reset it myself or will I have to get it back into the shop?

I've had a search of the forum and can't see anything about it, so sorry if this has been asked before.

Also, I currently have a fault light on the dash, relating to this, but when I ask the app for a vehicle report it says everything is fine.  Do other people have this problem as well?

Welcome.

?

Have you set all 4 tyre pressures as you want them then reset the TPMS, since the tyre was replaced?

Hi Offski,

Yep done that.  It doesn't come up with 'Rear left tyre pressure' for example, it comes up with 'System Fault'.

If I reset the system, like you have said, it comes back on about 5 mins later.

The fault light flashes for about 1 minute and then remains lit whenever I turn the car on.  Reading the manual it says to get it into the garage but if I can sort it myself easily I'd rather do that.

Why sort it yourself on a car that has done only 1,500 miles, use your warranty, you only wrecked a tyre and had a professional change the wheel for a spare i take it then refit the wheel with a new tyre, have the Skoda Tech reset the system or repair if faulty.

The hassle of getting the Assist guys out and if they can't do it on my drive, booking it into the garage, driving it up there (possibly leaving it if there busy and getting a courtesy car), then having to go back for it when it's done, I busy and not know when I could fit all that in.  If it was something simple that I could do myself I'd have missed all those steps out.

If it's not simple then I'll have to take it in.

It is not simple as in there is anything you can do if the wheel is on correctly and it is not the type of TPMS that has a sensor in the wheel.

You can just inflate tyres, reset the TPMS and drive.

I would want your electrics checked out anyway before any more issues.

?

What was the problem with the Glow Plugs or was that a software glitch?

1,500 mile car and after this visit to a dealers if anymore issues i would have Skoda UK arranging your car collected and courtesy car dropped off as a customer is not supposed to have to keep being put out and be back and fore to a dealers other than for Servicing.

I'll get it booked in then.

The glow plug was a fault with #1 and it came down to the control relay.  The guy that came out, the second time, said it would be that before he'd even plugged in.  The first guy just said it was the plug and I had to get it booked in to get it replaced.  After the relay was changed I've not had it fail again.  Apparently, this is starting to be a known fault, all the ones from a certain manufacturer are failing.

I've had a couple of other faults as well.  The Connect app isn't showing either of those faults, but it did show when I had the fuel light on and where I'm parked and if it's unlocked, all my preset radio stations dropped out and once my phone wouldn't connect to Car Play until I'd turned the car off for a while.
