Boost control valve

Featured Replies

Hope someone can help here. I’ve had a slight boost issue on low revs where it seems to be surging. I got a diagnostic test done and the result came back as “boost pressure control valve sparodic (n249).” Now I thought the boost pressure control valve was the n75 valve?? Am I missing something here but I’m trying to work out what I need to buy. Am I right in saying The n249 Is more of a System of which the n75 sits in as part of? It is there actually an n249 valve too? I’m confused a little so any help is appreciated. Here is a copy of the diagnostic printout 6661E204-3DDE-44AD-9451-EF63AEAEE9FE.thumb.jpeg.71daa73c2a1f55b5f320d87b80922c26.jpeg

The first pic shows the engine breathing system N249 is item 16, the second pic (thanks to Bowders) shows its location of

being underneath the perforated metal cover at the front just below the inlet manifold and alongside the dipstick. The N75 controls the turbo wastegate.

So I got myself a replacement n249 valve but it seems a nightmare to change. I’ve taken the plastic cover off by the dip stick, removed the nuts holding the plastic pipes down and removed the bolts going into the manifold, but I can’t seem to work out how to get to the valves underneath the plate. Does anyone have an idiots guide to doing this by any chance
