Cupholder

Featured Replies

Lovin my car so far, but of course there must always be one (or as I read from others more) little thing that is bothering me.

The cupholder is creaking when I drive over bumps. As I see that this is a common problem, has anyone done a DIY or let the dealer take care of it? My dealer is very helpful an has said to bring it in and they will take it apart  and reassemble it, but I don't know if that is a good idea. I don't want things to become worse or something else to start making noises, as it is not bothering me to much (but if there is an easy fix I will do it...). Will try driving with it closed and see if it helps.

I had this too.  The dealer took it apart and found that there was a rubber grommit missing from the cup holder.  They couldn't just get the grommit on its own, so had to replace the whole cup holder.  No more creaking :-)

Does anyone have any idea if on removal you can replace it with the self adjusting ones frombsay a Passat, a6 or other be group car?

Had mine replaced last week it helped a lot. Car 1 month old.
