Fabby vRS - Questions from new owner

Featured Replies

Hi fellow Briskodians,

Please can any enlighten me on a slight 'rubbing' noise coming from the centre part of the dash board, only occurs if you load the clutch/transmission, (whats behind the centre dash board?) - is this normal?

I have to say that I have heard various creaks and squeeks from my vRS. More so than in my old 16v, but I think I may well be able to put up with them . I did find one rattle came from the passenger seat belt stalk rubbing against the centre console. Could be worth investigating that area. :)

Thanks for that,

I haven't had the noise with the seat belt stalk rubbing the centre console. Anyway I agree that the are minor rubbings here and there, but not as bad as my previous car - Ford Fiesta! That thing was falling to pieces, never buy a ford again after owning them for a couple of years.

How is yours doing now? I am short of a few miles to the 1k mark after owning it for a week.

Rich.

Am now on about 2200 and she is pulling harder and harder as the engine gets looser! I'm sure the engine is also quieter and less smoker after filling up with BP! :)

I can't wait for the day of reckoning though! Jabba! :D

The figures below were done last week with 1750 miles on the clock, so the engine was still tight! V. Impressive! ;)

w00t! im on 2700 miles already! i was thinking about gatecrashing a SCN RR day @ stealth.. but its already fully booked :(

my car has a rubbing noise from the drivers "glove box", and somewhere on the passenger side, but i cant be arsed to find out where its coming from, altho i did have a rattle from behind the dash on the drivers side, which the dealer sorted out.

Quite a common problem and fairly easy to fix (the centre one anyway)

If you do a search there are quite a few threads on it.

Guess I must be quite lucky then. even with the harder suspension there are no rattles in my interior.

Now just coming up to 1000 miles aswell.

Also got nearly 1000miles on mine, and the only rattle I had I created when I fitted my hands free kit, that is now sorted.... Although when the mrs got her 16v it had a few rattles after 1000miles, but all sorted at first service (almost, still got a clonking passenger front suspension, that will be sorted soon though). If you can put up with the noise, just wait till your first service and get em sorted then

i had a couple of rattles on mine. 1 was the n/s/f door panel (new one on order) 2 was drivers side behind dash just had to adjust dash fixing bolts. 3 gear lever rattling dont know wots going to happen with that yet. iam on 820 miles and had it 3 weeks now.
