How many gears

Featured Replies

Hi and sorry for being a pain, we have a 2016 Octavia 1.6 auto and I wanted to know does it have 6 or 7 gears I thought it had 7 but the last few days it only has 6, many thanks. Debbie. Xx

7 speed dry DSG on the 1.6 TDI

What about 1.0 and 1.5 TSI.

Are they also 7 Speed?

Also if not lugging heavy load all the time, is it worth buying 1.0 TSI Estate? Or I must upgrade to 1.5TSI?

Thanks and sorry to piggy back here with another question.

7 speed box.

Are you in sports mode?

Does the gear display show D1 or S1 when you are stationary in gear?

We have a manual 1.0TSi estate & it's fantastic - all the performance & practicality I could have asked for (maybe coming up from a 1.4 Roomster I'm not particularly fussy)

Having had a Rapid with the 1.0 TSi as a courtesy and the same engine with no turbo in the Citigo (as well as having driven a 1.6 TDi Octy) I would really rate the 1.0 TSi. If I wanted to partner my vRS with another ‘family sized’ car, I’d look at a 1.0 Octy as I think the engine is very good. No doubt the 1.5 is as well, but I’d say the 1.0 is very impressive given it’s small size.

Try putting the car in manual mode and see if you can change into 7th that way.
